AVANUE OF STARS
Avanue of stars is a memorial art object which was created for perpetuating the memory of iconic figures and popularization their inputs in Ukrainian history and culture. This is Ukrainian analogue for Alley of stars in Hollywood, but we have not only celebrities and actors here, but also scientists, sportsmen and writers. The stars are made of brass and embedded in slabs. The main Kyiv Avenue of Stars was located in Instytutska Street at first, but later moved to the Pasazh in Khreschatyk. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has its own Avenue of Stars too.

The Avenue was established to the Day of Kyiv in 2010 and at that moment only 3 stars was installed there. Kyiv citizens voted for nominees at the site of mayor’s office.

Later, 12 stars were transferred here from existing at that time Square of Stars.

There can be more than 100 of Stars installed here.

During the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, the protestants destroyed the stars with Russian artists who had anti-Ukrainian position.
